San Telmo Footsteps

Starting the day at Argentina.

Scared at first I didn't know where to start, but every time I get to see the sky and argentinian nature, parks and plazas I am in love all over again.

How I've missed this country! I realize it now.
The first days where a little bit cold, wind blowing my hair ...but the next days the sun started to smile at my skin.

I visited the Zoo! I am amazed how there are lots of animals running around! I got to see some Lamas and Vicuñas, these are typical animals we have back at home, Peru.

It's funny to walk around and find a kind of familiar accent on the streets, my dear peruvians, some times miss understood, and judged, but there are good workers trying to provide for their families here and sometimes back at home. I had the chance to talk to some on these passed days, they always have a smile on their face and are eager to listed what brings me here...."music", I say.

My dear cousin has been helping me with directions, other wise I wouldn't be able to move around the streets.

Today I wanted to visit San Telmos's Market. So I grabbed my guitar and my boots and got on the "subte" or subway and went directly to the plaza de Mayo. This plaza is the main plaza, where the president's house is, "La casa rosa", beautiful color!!

Took some pictures, played my guitar...the song number 10 on my cd. And started to walk on the street Defensa, San Telmo's Market....uuuuuuu...amazed by the different cultures, by the art of the people. I recently read...something like..."art is the only way to travel without leaving home", but what better way to enjoy art, and be art while you are traveling! What filled my heart and mind in this past month is that no matter where I am, when Music is in me, with me and around me I feel like home, I am found, even when I'm feeling lonely.

So although carrying my guitar around is tough, it's all worthwhile.

These are some things I liked on the market, lots of people and pink dolls! hahaha...one of them dressed as a typical peruvian girl from the Sierra!

I had the chance to listen to an incredible Jazz band... all argentinians!

And finally! the best of the evening...I been dreaming about this ice-cream since I left Argentina 3 years ago! Freddo! Chocolate and hazelnut...yyuuuum.

Siting at the Airport with the aroma of tea Chai Latte

I'm sitting down at Starbucks, one of the world's delights.
I haven't had a Chai Latte I don't know for how long!

Yesterday I had a different day. For the first time I had the chance to share what I've learned over the years with music lessons, and what musician friends have tought me in different parts of the US (Kelly and George at Redlands CA, my friends at Napa Valley, Aswan at Charlotte NC, Kevens at Miami FL).

Mi niece, Nico, has a school project in which she has to sing songs and show the whole process.
I was exciting since I coached her all the way through. She has a lovely voice, I even felt lots of honesty and truth in the color of her voice.

The songs where Disney classics such as "colors of the wind", "journey to the past". These songs remind me of the time I was a young girl singing and dancing all over my house, arms open, dancing and singing as if the story the song told was my own... hahaha...good days.

Nico is such a special girl, she has an "angel" like we say back at home, a little something special, I still have her smile on my mind, she smiles and everybody around her smiles.

Back at the airport, I am looking at travelers walk, I looove the clothes some of them are wearing....specially some red shoes!
There is a couple of older ladies with a computer...I wish my grandma could lear how to use one! so she could chat with her friends in argentina.

Packing For Traveling!

I was so exited yesterday about my blog, I couldn't wait to keep blogging.
Some one told me few weeks ago I should start blogging, but I thought to my self, I already have other pages which I have to connect constantly.

Finally my mom (mamager) insisted, and once I started to write, it felt like my diary all over again. I feel sometimes I have so much to say, and no one to share it with. That's why I usually write songs, because it is a way to tell someone how he affects your life.

So now, I am super excited choosing my outfits, for the big day tomorrow!
I am going to ARGENTINA! a loovely country! to the capital Buenos Aires, or Baires, as some call it.
This is a country where lots of cultures mix and there is music everywhere!
I just fall in love with the city every time I have a chance to visit.

This time is different, this time I am on my own. For the first time, I am taking my bags, my guitar, and my happy face! hahaha

I am now choosing among lots of clothes what to wear, and realize I haven't checked the weather forecast!

The clothes that I am taking are mainly black and white...always a good way to go.
Obviously a little bit os sparkle and animal print is a necessity!

I am taking some head bands to wear with my recently cut bangs (way too short for my taste), a few necklaces, and bracelets.

I'll see what else comes to my mind.

Starting Today

Today is my first day as a blogger.
I am usually recognized as a singer, as a writer, and as a musician.
But there is a whole different side of me, which I am not usually comfortable to share, to express.
It's a side of me which few people know, some love, others cherish, and some... I don't know. hahaha.
Well I hope to share little bits and pieces of me...as I blog my stories, little verses, dreams and experiences to you, who ever you are...

Today I started with a smile, but as the day passed, my stomach started to burn, I guess every time I get nervous, it starts to jump!

ps. I loove the site! i'ts Cieneguilla, a little bit of sun half an our away from the gray sky of Lima.
I'm loving my guitar on the back.
